Love at First Sight for Aesthetic Medicine and PDO Threads

Dr. Shahid Iqbal, a Board-Certified Physician and Medical Director with several offices in the Chattanooga, TN area, did not always envision himself at the forefront of aesthetic medicine, having spent many years treating patients in his family practice. “However, I have always been interested in aesthetic medicine,” Dr. Iqbal shares. “Within a year after completing my training, I attended a seminar on general aesthetics, which proved to be a love at first sight.”

Driven by this newfound passion, Dr. Iqbal embarked on a journey to redefine aesthetic medicine in Tennessee, offering a comprehensive array of services tailored to meet the diverse needs of his clientele. “We offer a wide range of aesthetics services,” Dr. Iqbal explains. “From facials, chemical peels, and hydra facial to injectables like toxins and fillers, PDO threads to a variety of laser services and body sculpting treatments like Coolsculpting®, Cooltone®, and laser-assisted liposuction and fat transfer.”

He acknowledges that there are difficulties in establishing a thriving aesthetic practice that anyone entering the field must be aware of, particularly in an industry susceptible to economic fluctuations. “The aesthetic industry is affected by the economy the most,” Dr. Iqbal notes. “Slow times require an incentivized approach to maintain a relatively steady flow of revenue.”

However, Dr. Iqbal maintains that a well-trained staff, dedication to learning new techniques, and hard work are the cornerstones of his success. In addition, he offers invaluable advice to those contemplating opening a medical spa: “Do not mix it with general medical practice. Offer services only after you master the skills, as that along with the best products, ensure your clients get the results they are looking for.”

Among all the services he offers, PDO threads have become a staple in his business, in the past several years. Initially hesitant, his perspective shifted during training, leading to a newfound appreciation for their transformative potential. “For years, one of my nurse practitioners would encourage me to add PDO threads to our practice,” he recalls. “The training with PDO Max, with their threads, proved to make it another love at first sight, and I wondered, ‘What took me so long?” Having taken three training classes with PDO Max, Dr. Iqbal is on his way to mastering PDO threads, due in part to his dedication to mastering new procedures and passion for aesthetic medicine.

Looking ahead, Dr. Iqbal emphasizes that PDO thread lifts represent a significant advancement in aesthetic medicine, offering a safe, effective, and minimally invasive solution for facial rejuvenation.
