Frequently Asked Questions

You keep up with the latest trends and developments in the cosmetic industry so that you can offer your patients what they want while growing your business. Even so, it’s only natural to have questions about new technology, products, services, and procedures. Here are just some of the answers to your most frequently asked questions about PDO Max threads and more.

PDO Threads

Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are thinner-than-hair medical grade absorbable threads that lift and tighten sagging skin tissues. These threads are implanted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using small needles or cannulas. Once the threads are inserted, the skin looks rejuvenated, filled and lifted.

Our PDO threads are truly cleared as a PDO in cannula device. We are currently one of two companies in the U.S. that can make this claim. Our barbed threads are cut in such a way that gives maximum hold with a zero failure rate.

Our training courses are the most extensive in the industry offering a full day, hands-on experience where you are inserting hundreds of threads and working on 4 full facelift patients. We are also the specification developer for all of our products meaning we design and create all of our own models that are manufactured for us, we do not just import another company’s product line.

Many companies out there are claiming they are FDA cleared when they are not. The minute a PDO thread is inserted into a cannula, it becomes a whole new device that requires its own FDA clearance. So while they may have a PDO thread clearance, if they are pre-loaded into a cannula or needle, this requires a whole new 510k submission. It is imperative to do your research when choosing a PDO thread company and always request to see their 510K documentation if you are unsure.

You can research any medical device and company on the FDA website here.

Our 510K number is K190245 and can be found here.

As a provider of cosmetic goods/services, you may only be able to offer so much. While laser technology, RF microneedling, and other technological advancements can make a big splash, without a surgeon or MD on your team, there are some things that you just can’t offer.

PDO Max threads give your business another dimension—one that puts you in line with surgical competitors in your area. PDO Max threads can provide many of the same benefits as a facelift and numerous other surgical procedures depending on how and where it’s applied. Profit margins are exceptional and our training program is comprehensive and affordable.

The Thread Lift Treatment

A PDO thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure that helps tighten a person’s skin. Without the need for big incisions, unlike most facelift procedures, PDO thread lifting uses small needles to insert fine threads under the skin. These PDO threads are especially designed to anchor the sagging skin and lift it upwards. The threads also stimulate collagen production, which further diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Anyone who is looking to correct lines, wrinkles, and other manifestations of aging in the face can be a good candidate for a PDO thread lift procedure. If a person’s sagging skin is under the chin and near the cheeks, the procedure is especially effective and beneficial for them.

Ideal candidates are between the ages of 30-65.

Since PDO thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure, the recovery time is quick. Most people who get this procedure done return to their normal activities after a day. Minor inflammation and bruising may occur in the first few days, but they usually resolve after two weeks.

If a PDO thread lifting procedure isn’t done by a professional, it may result in thread protrusion and puckering of the skin. These happen when the PDO threads aren’t properly implanted. This is why we offer such an extensive training program for our practitioners.

The PDO threads dissolve after six to nine months, but their effects can last up to two years, thanks to the production of collagen.
